The Mysterious Death of Brittany Murphy

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Perhaps it was being born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Edison New Jersey that bestowed Brittany Murphy with the adaptability that allowed her to conquer a fairly prodigious amount of projects. She first honed her acting skills in regional theatre at the age of 9 and by the age of 13, she had signed on with a manager and began appearing in television commercials. In 1991, at the age of 13, Brittany and her mother moved to Burbank, California, where she landed her first television role on the show Blossom. This lead to a starring role on Drexell’s Class, a series that proved to be short lived. The major breakthrough of Brittany Murphy was in Clueless, the Emma meets Beverly Hills 90210 comedy in which she starred opposite Alicia Silverstone. She went on to demonstrate her versatility and talent for not only comedy but also drama.

Brittany Murphy was a perpetually perky and slightly quirky actress who worked her way up from supporting parts to romantic leads after her major breakout in Clueless. Unfortunately, she did not have enough time to prove her talent, as she was found dead in Los Angeles, at the age of 32. She apparently collapsed in the bathroom and the cause of death was natural. The wide brown eyes of the actress and unrestrained asymmetrical smile made her a frequent choice for the role of ditz with an edge, as the urban transplant to a Beverly Hills highschool in Clueless, and the riches to rags au pair in Uptown Girls, or a woman over the edge playing characters with severe mental illness in the thriller Don’t Say a Word or Girl, Interrupted.

Her image often slipped beyond her control. She was repeatedly romantically involved linked to her co-stars, including Ashton Kutcher from Just Married, and a string of broken engagements made her tabloid fodder. This is maybe just one of the main things that lead to her self destruction and possible decision to take her life. Nobody really knows the real reason behind her death. It is all a matter of suppositions. Be that as it may, Brittany Murphy was a very talented actress who had her whole life and career ahead of her. It is a real shame that we can no longer see her play in movies. As most of the Hollywood celebrities are unhappy, she was also. However, she will be remembered through the movies she made.

Brittany Murphy’s One Time Co-Star, Taking Over for Charlie Sheen

Filed under: Brittany Murphy - 04 Jun 2011  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

It’s been over a year and a half since the talented and far too young Brittany Murphy passed away. Many of her previous co-stars expressed their sadness at the loss of this shining star. One notable co-star to express his grief was Ashton Kutcher. Kutcher’s situation was especially difficult because he had dated Murphy in 2002. While this was a hard time for Kutcher, he has bounced back from this loss and continued forward with his career.

Kutcher in 2011′s No Strings Attached

2011 got off to a great start for Ashton. He starred alongside Natalie Portman in No Strings Attached. While this romantic comedy failed to impress critics, that didn’t stop it from performing well at the box office. The movie made over $147 million off a budget of $25 million. The movie was also better received by viewers with a rating of 6.2 on IMDB.

Goodbye Charlie, Hello Ashton

Everyone is aware of Charlie Sheen’s antics since the beginning of 2011. While this wasn’t his first time to go through the cycle of rehab and arguments with CBS, it turned out to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Sheen was officially fired from the show on March 7th.

After rampant replacement speculations that included Rob Lowe, CBS announced on May 13th that Ashton will join Jon Cryer as Two and a Half Men’s new character.

Ashton’s current contract will be for one season. While Ashton won’t make Sheen’s astronomical rate of $1.78 million per episode, he’ll still pull in a reported $750,000 per episode.
